As CXP Wood is a new material, it is just natural that people have lots of questions about it. You can find below a list of some of the most frequently asked question. This is not an exhaustive list by any means, and will be updated as we receive more inquiries.

This smell comes from lignin , which is not toxic to our body. You can be confident when using CXP to make products that will be in touch with food or other products that touch our skin and/or mucoses, such as beauty tools, cosmetics package and more. In fact, our kitchen products are all certified.
If you want or need to submit your finished goods for inspection and acquire local certifications pertinent to your country, you shouldn’t have any trouble doing so.
This smell comes from lignin, and it is expected to be present in new, freshly moulded products. It naturally disappears over the next few days, but if you want to rush the process you can wash the items using hot water.
While we don’t hold certifications that are specific to the US or EU market (at least yet!), we have several certifications in Korea which comply to international standards. You can ask for a list of the certifications we have.
If you want to acquire local certifications for your products, you are encouraged to do so and we will help to the best of our abilities to provide information and/or guidance.
Meaning you don’t need to use any other ingredient to get your ✨amazing product✨ ready to be sold! CXP pellets come in a few colors, and that color is the one you’ll get after injection.
However, if you don’t like our colors and don’t want to invest in a new color that is custom-made for you, we do have a “Masterbatch grade” that can be mixed with PE colorants and boom, you can have CXP in your own color.
Moreover, CXP was projected to replace general use plastics at first. While we would love to develop our dear CXP to endure tougher challenges, we are not at the point where it can replace engineered plastics, for example.

A significant advantage of CXP material lies in its ability to blend seamlessly with various materials. Its core technology involves cross-linking specific molecules, enabling it to harmonize with different grades of CXP and even most plastics.
However, it’s important to note that wood itself is non-meltable. Therefore, minerals are introduced to facilitate melting, but these minerals dissipate during the injection process, converting into energy. The mineral content is sufficient for approximately 2.5 injection cycles. This necessitates incorporating fresh CXP material to ensure continuous recycling.
While CXP retains most of its properties even if not completely burned during injection, for environmental sustainability, we recommend utilizing fresh CXP (forestry byproducts) and burying used materials/products to maximize CO2 capture within CXP products.
♻️🚫 Discard it in the regular trash!
Aside from simply gifting the item to someone who may give it a new life, in case you want to discard your CXP product but there is no collection point in your location you can simply toss it in the regular trash. Rest assured, as CXP does not release any toxic substance during decomposition.
Please, do not discard it along with plastic goods for recycling – CXP is wood and will disturb the recycling process.
If you happen to have a mill at home, you can try and grind the products as they would be at a production facility, and use all that nutritious dust as substract to mix with your plants’ soil. 🌱
CXP goods that are subjected to heavy coloring agents, such as kitchen utensils, may get stained if not properly cared for. When products are cleaned shortly after use, even if they were exposed to tinted sauces, stains should not be present.
If staining still happens, please expose the product to sunlight after cleaning as usual.
