Dongnam Realize considers CXP as a material that will contribute to a better future for the Earth. It's not just a new material: any discarded cellulose can be used as a raw material, thus reducing the use of coal/petroleum based plastics that are difficult to extract and refine. It can also avoid the toxic content that comes from those plastics. ‎ㅤㅤ

Dongnam Realize's Beginning

Limited usability of domestic wood, and an abundant and recurring supply of forestry byproducts.

In Korea, many recreational forest projects were developed in alignment with businesses on the tourist industry. During this process there was a great need for building structures made of wood, however, the characteristics of domestic wood were not favorable for this. It isn't suitable for construction of wooden buildings or housing, so its use was quite limited.

Before, the best way to utilize this national wood was making WPC, a mixture of wood and plastic. However, the bond between the materials is weak, making it suffer from bending or other deformities overtime. This is, of course, not ideal to the people managing buildings in which these decks and other products made of WPC were used.

Toxicity from the bonding method was also a problem. To solve this, Dongnam Realize tried to make a material that is less prone to the issues WPC faced, making it easily managable.

Through long research, we developed a new material called CXP: Cellulose X-linked Polymer. CXP can be injected and extruded in the same machinery that is currently used for plastic products, and CXP is based on cellulose: no need for a specific type of wood. Dongnam Realize was created to contribute to society and the environment through the use of CXP.
